How to add more Entity Attribute Codes and Types

Modified on Wed, 27 Mar at 9:30 PM

Attributes can be added to Entities to help label and tag Entities for such things as Marketing

Step-by-step guide

Information about Entity attributes can be found in LawMaster's built in help:

  • Menubar > Help > System Overview > Contents tab > Client and Matter > Entity Maintenance and Enquiry > Pre-requisites > Parameters Required > Client Attribute Codes
  • Menubar > Help > System Overview > Contents tab > Client and Matter > Entity Maintenance and Enquiry > Pre-requisites > Parameters Required > Client Attribute Types
  • Menubar > Help > System Overview > Contents tab > Client and Matter > Entity Maintenance and Enquiry > Entity Maintenance > Entity Attribute Maintenance

In summary to add new types and codes to then associate them with entities:

  1. Go to Parameters > Set Parameters > Matter and Client > Client Attribute Types
  2. Right click on the grid
  3. Select Add
NOTE: The Client Attribute Types (CV parameter) are a two character code for specific Attribute codes to be listed within an Attribute Type or category.
  4. To now add codes to the types you have added above:
    1. Go to Parameters > Set Parameters > Matter and Client > Client Attribute Codes
    2. Right click on the grid
    3. Select Add
NOTE: The Client Attribute Codes (CB parameter) are a four character code for specific Attributes to be listed within an Attribute Type or category. The first two characters of this four character code must be the two character Attribute Type as set up in the Client Attribute Type parameter (eg. DI in the image above) . The remaining two characters may then describe the Client Attribute Code e.g. INRE – Industry/Real Estate.
