Associated Data exists - Please detach Message When Deleting Matter

Problem 

You have completed the Pre-Close File Check and successfully closed the matter.

You now want to delete the matter but you are getting the error: 

Associated Data exists - Please detach

Solution 

To find out where the matter is still being used: 

1. Go to the matter in question 
2. Matter Menu > Matter > Show Where Used 

If the "Matter Check List" box is ticked and is stopping the Matter from being deleted: 

1. Go to the matter in question 
2. Matter Menu > Matter > Review Matter Details (inc Profile) 
3. Set the Work Type to a Work type that doesn't have a Workflow event associated with it 
4. Then try to delete the matter. 

If the "Movements" box is ticked and is stopping the Matter from being deleted: 

1. Go to Entity Enquiry > Matters tab - context menu - View Closed > Delete 

IMPORTANT: Normally Matters are only deleted if they were accidentally setup in the first place as all record of the Matter is lost and not retrievable when deleted. Closing a Matter is usually all that is needed.
