Posting Creditors Transaction to Prior Period

The Posting to Prior Period (U_PPP parameter) allows or denies postings of accounts payable transactions to a prior period/month. 


The parameter can be enabled by entering a value greater than 0 and up to 28. This will set the last day of the current month after which the system prohibits posting against a prior period. The default day is set to “0” which disables this function. 


So as per screen shot below – setting this to 28 days enables the posting of entries to the prior period for 28 days in to the current period. 



The following conditions must also be must also be met to have an accounts payable Voucher posted against a prior financial period: 

  1. “Costing to General Ledgers”, “Accounts Payable” and “Postings” must all be enabled (checkbox ticked) in the Accounting > Processing Options parameter and also “WIP” must be set to “All” or “Disbursement” 
  2. The voucher must be posted to:

General Bank Account (Non Trust) 

Allocation Type is “G – Non-Matter GL Account”

Payment method must be either B,S,D or E If at least one of the conditions above is not satisfied, then Vouchers will be posted against the current financial period. 


Example: Database has been rolled to YBD 1/7/22 – Current Accounting Period is July 2022 (Period 1) 


User wants to enter a Payment Voucher dated 20/06/2022 to post to the prior Period (June 2022 – Period 12). 


Enter the voucher with the June date and Payment type (B,S,D or E), allocate it to a G – Non-Matter GL Account, then a message will appear under the GL Code stating that: 


Note: The voucher will be posted to the prior period (Period XX)
