Problem

The matter toolbar or other toolbar in LawMaster suddenly disappears leaving a grey line and re-starting LawMaster resolves the issue temporarily:

Solution

This rare issue is caused by Windows refreshing the GUI (say after merging some documents and Word comes up) and in the process, not re-rendering it correctly.

Setting PracticeManagement.exe to disable full screen optimisations so that the DPI scaling behaviour could be managed by the Application and not the System resolves the issue

  1. On the affected machine close LawMaster and Outlook NOTE: This process is best carried out by your IT people.
  2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\LawMaster\Client\PracticeManagement\Versions\
  3. Open the folder for the version of LawMaster you are using

  5. Select the Compatibility tab
  6. Tick the "Disable full-screen optimisations"
  7. Click OK
  8. Restart the PC
  9. Start LawMaster and Outlook
  10. If that doesn't help:
    1. On the affected machine close LawMaster and Outlook
    2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\LawMaster\Client\PracticeManagement\Versions\
    3. Open the folder for the version of LawMaster you are using
    4. Right click on the PracticeManagement.exe file
