Error Message "Failed to create an Outlook add-in entry point."

Problem 


Unable to log into a database. Receiving error message "Failed to create an Outlook add-in entry point." 


This error message usually displayed if you have two or more instances of the same database open on your PC. The Outlook add-in cannot create an entry point to more than one instance of the same database. 



Solution 


Check to see if you have more than one instance of the same database open on your PC, if so, close the multiple instances. 

This should resolve the issue. 


If you double clicked quickly, you may have inadvertently opened more than one instance of the database. 



NOTE: When opening a database, you may need to wait a few seconds for it to load. 


In a Terminal Server Environment make sure you don't have 2 RDP sessions open for the one user 


Also this issue can occur when you are trying to run LawMaster and Outlook on 2 separate PCs for the same Windows user. Logging out of one of the Windows sessions should resolve the issue.
